Become a teacher on the job

We are proud to work in partnership with organisations who train the teachers of tomorrow. Here are some of the organisations we work with:

  • Our trust, the Bellevue Place Education Trust, has partnered with Teach First to deliver our School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (SCITT). The SCITT programme is based at our school, it is one-year long and involves a powerful mix of live training in class, self-directed study and one-to-one support.

Training with our teachers, in the classroom, will enable you to develop the skills needed and it is ideal for people who are eager to learn on the job and make a difference in our community from day one. As a trainee, you will be interacting every day with pupils and work as a member of our teaching staff. You’ll receive plenty of practical experience as well as subject-specific training and a deep understanding of effective teaching methods. The programme is 12 months long, and at the end you will gain qualified teacher status (QTS) and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) awarded by Sheffield Hallam University. Read more on how to become a teacher on the job with us, BPET and Teach First.

  • LDBS SCITT recruits and trains teachers on the School Direct programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Teaching London SCITT and the LDBS partnership have been training outstanding teachers for over 20 years and their work has been validated by an 'outstanding' Ofsted report.

  • Be Ready is a dedicated skills partner, established in 2014, delivers global award-winning online learning programmes for teachers, which can be fully funded via the Apprenticeship Levy.

We also work with a host of other organisations, including universities and colleges, to accommodate placements for teachers and support staff. If you are interested in completing your placement with us, you are welcome to contact us to find out if we can help you.
