Foreign Languages

Learning a new language is so much more than just words. It develops children’s curiosity and confidence to explore other countries, cultures and languages, accepting that, in a multi-lingual society, it is a valuable skill to be able to communicate effectively with others in another language. We have chosen to teach Spanish as it is one of the top five most widely spoken languages in the world.

We use the Primary Language Network scheme of work to teach children Spanish from Years 3-6. Each class has a weekly timetabled Spanish lesson.
