Kilburn Grange School pupils light up local festivities

Forty-five Year 6 pupils f had been rehearsing carols for a long time when the chance to take the stage at the Kilburn Christmas market materialised, and they jumped at the opportunity!

Singing Christmas classics, they delighted local residents and shoppers who filled out the street in order to see them. And once the carols were over, the pupils got the crowd moving with their dance moves, bringing a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm to the event.

Brent Cllr Muhammed Butt joined in, delighted to share this wonderful moment with the children. He said: “I am incredibly grateful to the pupils and staff of Kilburn Grange School for their enthusiasm and dedication which was inspiring, and their efforts have created a vibrant and welcoming space for local businesses and residents to connect. Thank you for your commitment to strengthening our community through the market which I hope becomes a regular event.”

Ms Sarah Storey, Deputy Headteacher and director of the choir, said: “The children absolutely loved it! They asked if the Christmas market could happen every year! It had a lovely community feel and it was so lovely to see everyone smiling and laughing.”

Kilburn Grange School also organised a competition for local residents in order to share the festive cheer. The winner, Ms Sara, said: “Thank you very much for the food hamper, it is so big. I will share it with a few people to wish them a Happy Christmas.”

No time to rest though for our children, a couple of days later the pupils went on to compete at the North West London Dodgeball Championship, and were crowned the winners!
